Imported products from the U.S., such as meat, will get more expensive on Tuesday when Canada’s retaliatory tariffs go into effect.

As Ottawa slaps retaliatory tariffs on the U.S., life in Canada — for everyone from the average consumer to some of the country’s largest manufacturer sectors — stands to get more expensive.

Effective Tuesday, the Canadian government is imposing 25 per cent counter-tariffs on $30 billion in goods imported from the United States in response to Trump’s executive order imposing a 25 per cent surcharge on Canadian goods, as well as a 10 per cent one on energy imports.
