Unpaid toll text scam targeting massive number of people in NC [Video]

Smartphone users, beware; a surge of unpaid toll text message scams are targeting your wallet and your vehicle.They look like this:A text claiming you have an outstanding toll that must be paid by following a link. They often claim you could face a fine, legal action, or even getting your vehicle or license suspended if you don’t pay quickly. It’s a trick law enforcement says looks convincing and is dangerous. Since March of last year, the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center says it has received more than 2,000 complaints of smishing texts impersonating toll road collection services from several states.
