Unsolved homicide: Vancouver police appeal for witnesses [Video]

Vancouver police are urging witnesses to a fatal stabbing several years ago to “do the right thing” by coming forward and co-operating with investigators.

On Thursday, the department renewed its appeal for information in the unsolved homicide of Luis Rosas Saenz. 

On the morning of July 10, 2021, officers were called to the scene near Southwest Marine Drive and West 57th Avenue for reports of a “fight on the street,” according to authorities.

When they arrived, they found Saenz, 24, seriously injured on the street. He later died in hospital.

Investigators believe Saenz was leaving a house party in the area when he got into a “verbal altercation” with a group of people, one of whom stabbed him, the Vancouver Police Department said. A suspect has apparently been identified, but the VPD has not named them.
