Update: Two people have died and another person was injured in an incident in Burlington Tuesday.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 911 calls were received from a residence on Cornerstone Drive in Burlington for an unknown disturbance, the Special Investigations Unit said.

Halton Regional Police officers responded to the home, and a man fled upstairs, the SIU said. Police found the man upstairs with a self-inflicted injury. Officers provided life-saving measures and called paramedics.

The 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was found dead in the home and a woman was transported to hospital with non-serious injuries.

Halton Regional Police Service is conducting a parallel criminal investigation.

Four SIU investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case. Three witness officials have been designated at this time.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation, including video or photos, to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 or online at: https://siu.on.ca/en/appeals.php
