Upgraded Ontario city park re-opens, thanks to efforts from local high school students [Video]

A spruced up, cleaned up and upgraded Conant Park was re-opened April 30, thanks to the City of Oshawa and volunteers from neighbouring Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School.

More than 60 students from the school, located directly south of the park, came together to celebrate the reopening with a community clean-up and local councillor Brian Nicholson gave the students a special shout-out for their efforts.

“The students and staff of Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School worked hard to clean up the park and surrounding greenspace. They make us proud to be residents of this southern Oshawa community.”

Conant Park is a neighbourhood park located between Ritson Road South and Wentworth Street East in Ward 5, behind the high school.

Key improvements to Conant Park, which involved community engagement, include:
