US, Canada Tout Progress After Trump-Carney Meeting [Video]

Canada and the U.S. have said progress is being made to rekindle their relationship, which has been roiled by trade tensions since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.

On Wednesday, Canadian Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent spoke on the sidelines of a meeting of G7 finance ministers and central bank governors in Banff, Alberta. Champagne told reporters following the meeting that he and Bessent had engaged in “a very productive G7 discussion.”
