“Everybody wants to make a deal,” Donald Trump declared today as he admitted there had been some “transition difficulty” on the markets following his on-again off-again tariffs.

The European Union moved to suspend its retaliatory measures – although Canada said it would continue to fight against what it called  “unjustified and misguided” duties.

And as America’s trade war with China ramped up yet another notch US markets have dropped back in the red.
