A Vancouver cyclist who was struck by a driver in a stolen police SUV says months after the incident, he feels there’s a lack of accountability from those involved.

Chris Taylor was biking near Templeton Park in East Vancouver on Oct. 6 when a man driving a Vancouver Police Department cruiser struck him.

After hitting Taylor, the suspected driver, Dustin Walter Tallio, was captured on video doing donuts in the field as bystanders cautioned others to keep their distance.

Tallio allegedly jumped into the vehicle while police were responding to a woman in distress near East Hastings Street. He has more than 50 previous criminal convictions and was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and failing to stop for police.

Taylor said the incident has caused him trauma.
