Vancouvers Bloedel Conservatory reopening Jan. 4 [Video]

Vancouver’s Bloedel Conservatory is set to reopen after a lengthy closure for upgrades, according to the park board.

The popular botanical garden in Queen Elizabeth Park – which is home to tropical birds and koi fish in addition to exotic plants – will welcome visitors again starting Jan. 4. The conservatory shut its doors on Oct. 28 so interior pathways could be reconstructed.

“With exotic plants, chatty birds, and newly enhanced pathways, Bloedel Conservatory promises a fun and affordable indoor activity for visitors of all ages,” a news release from the park board said.

The pathways have been widened and leveled to make the space easier to navigate, and to improve its accessibility

“These improvements not only elevate the visitor experience but also reflect the Conservatory’s commitment to inclusivity,” the statement from the board continued.
