Essex County OPP have charged a 22-year-old driver after a vehicle hit a house in Leamington.
On Sunday at 2:32 a.m., members of Leamington OPP detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision was on Sutton Drive.
Officers arrived on scene to find a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle and a house. The driver of the vehicle was attempting to flee the scene but was arrested by officers. The driver was transported to a local detachment.
As a result, a 22-year-old of Kingsville resident has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to speak to the charges on Jan. 29.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
