Vermont officials respond after 8 workers detained at Franklin County dairy farm [Video]

A recent immigration enforcement action at a dairy farm in northern Vermont has led to the detention of eight migrant farmworkers, drawing a complex array of emotions throughout the state.On Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection detained eight workers at Pleasant Valley Farms in Berkshire, a family-run dairy farm owned by the family of Olympic athlete Elle St. Pierre. The detained individuals were reportedly transported to a detention facility in Swanton.A spokesperson from Customs and Border Protection said agents were responding to a report from a citizen who allegedly saw two people carrying backpacks and exiting a wooded area before crossing a cornfield into private farmland less than three miles from the U.S.-Canada border.Agents were able to arrest one of the individuals at the scene and pursued the second.
