A bright pink food trailer has rolled into Oshawa, serving up street eats inspired by the bold, hometown flavours of Jalisco, Mexico.
Chica Banda officially opened on May 15 at 800 Taunton Rd. W., and it’s already turning heads.
According to Chica Banda’s website, the truck is the latest venture for Alejandro, who moved to Canada from Mexico in 2008 and brings experience in graphic and audiovisual work.
After opening a restaurant in Costa Rica in 2023, he returned to Canada with a creative vision: to turn Mexican street food into a mobile experience full of flavour, energy, and storytelling.
The menu features carnitas tacos (slow-cooked pork with onions, cilantro, and lime), birria tacos with consomé for dipping, and cheesy quesabirria — their loaded take on the viral classic.
