A man was punched in the face after he accidentally bumped into another man while shopping at an Ontario business, police say.

Guelph police said that at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to the parking lot of a business in the Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street North area of the city.

“The victim reported he had been shopping inside when he accidentally bumped into another man not known to him,” police said.

A short time later, the victim left left the business. He was confronted outside and punched in the face, police said.

Police said he did not need medical attention.

A 62-year-old man from Guelph was arrested for assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 20.
