FORT ST. JOHN –A Victoria-based animal rescue group has stepped in to save 14 cats left stray in Fort St. John.
The North Peace Forgotten Felines Society, facing financial constraints, was forced to close their intake at the end of August, leaving the cats in need of new homes.
The society’s owner reached out to Broken Promises Rescue in Victoria, who agreed to take on the felines. To facilitate the transport, the organization contacted a Canada-wide animal rescue group, which arranged for the cats to be chartered from Fort St. John to Boundary Bay Airport, a nearly two-hour flight.
Canadian Wings of Rescue (CWOR), utilizing their network of volunteer pilots, played a crucial role in facilitating the move.
Fraser Hall, a pilot from Vancouver, successfully transported the cats on Monday, September 16th, 2024, where they were met by a representative from Broken Promises Rescue.
