An excavator was used to rip through the front end of a Scotiabank branch in Vaughan last night in an alleged ATM theft.
A 25-second video clip circulating on social media captures the aftermath of the break-in, which appears to have happened at 8565 Highway 27 in Woodbridge, next to the Fortinos grocery store.
A gaping hole is visible in the building, with debris strewn across the pavement.
The woman recording the video walks toward the bank, narrating, “I came to bank this morning, and this is what happened. Apparently, some people stole this piece of machinery and took the entire ATM at Scotiabank.
While the video does not clearly show the missing ATMs, police have not indicated whether cash or machines were taken during the break-in.
