Thrill seekers and amusement park lovers won’t have to wait much longer to ride the “longest, tallest and fastest” launch roller-coaster in Canada, opening soon at Canada’s Wonderland in Ontario.

Workers laid the final piece of track on the upcoming AlpenFury roller-coaster at Canada’s Wonderland this week – a 1,000-metre-long ride that goes across the park and reaches speeds of 115 km/h.

With over 50 track sections, 400 columns and 6,000 bolts, AlpenFury will be a launch-coaster using a system to propel trains along the track, rather than using a lift hill and letting gravity do the work.

Electrical work has also wrapped, and crews are working on transforming the inside of Wonder Mountain with “dynamic lighting” that will shift from blue to red as you pass through.
