Vince Russo – ‘Comedy Is Gone In Wrestling, No-One Has A Sense Of Humor’ [Video]

Vince Russo has bemoaned the alleged lack of comedy in wrestling today, compared to when he was writing as part of the Attitude Era.

On a recent edition of the “Wrestling Outlaws” podcast, Russo argued that the wrestling industry has lost its proverbial funny bone. He said,

“Here’s the problem, bro. Nobody has a sense of humor in wrestling anymore. Nobody’s got, nobody has… There used to be those characters, where they were, Eric Young like they were the comedy. It’s just, it’s non-existent. It’s non-existent.”

Russo recalled renaming the WCW Hardcore title to the Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title, which he found hilarious due to the S.H.I.T acronym.

Wrestling has several wrestlers currently performing that bring fun to the ring, including R-Truth, Chelsea Green, and AEW’s Harley Cameron.

Despite his belief that there’s no humor, Russo is backing Chelsea Green in the Women’s U.S. Title Tournament. Green will face Bayley in the next round.
