WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – A staple for the United States Snowmobile Association, or USSA, they proudly return to Wausau for the Sprint World Cup.
“If you’re looking for speed, excitement, it’s going to be beautiful weather, 20’s,” United States Snowmobile Association Director of Competition Bob Richardson said. “If you’ve never seen it, it’s a must. Speeds exceeding 90, 90 miles an hour and close racing. It’s exciting.”
Competing at the former Wausau 525 race track, racers from the U.S. and Canada make their way down to Central Wisconsin.
“This is a really cool place, one of the only tracks that we currently race on that’s purpose-built for oval racing/snowmobiles,” snowmobile racer and crew member Davis Jennings said. “So it’s really cool, really cool facility for viewing for the fans.”
Back for its third year running, the event’s grown to mesh with fans and beyond.
