Walmart finally opens in a busy Ontario neighbourhood [Video]

Walmart will be located on the second floor of this retail centre on Lakeshore Road in Port Credit.

It’s been rumoured and talked about for years, but an Ontario community is finally getting a Walmart.

Today (May 8), the retailing giant will open its latest store in the Mississauga lakefront community of Port Credit.

And the new store will have a unique look.

Instead of a dedicated standalone building, this Walmart is located on the second floor of an existing retail centre at 507-515 Lakeshore Road East, just west of Cawthra Road.

Known as the Trinity District In Lakeview, the location is already home to the Bank of Montreal, PetSmart, Popeye’s and other businesses. Walmart will occupy 95,000 sq-ft on the second level of the complex at the northwest corner of Lakeshore and Douglas McCurdy Common. The area also includes residential units and offices.
