Police are looking for Shaun Krawiec.

Police in Niagara Region say a person connected to a shooting in Welland is on the run and may be hiding somewhere in Ontario.

The wanted man is 28-year-old Shaun Krawiec. Police say he faces several charges, including aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order, and pointing a firearm.

Police say Krawiec is known to visit the Hamilton area but could be headed anywhere. He is considered armed and dangerous.

In the early hours of May 9, police responded to a shooting at a home in the area of Leaside Drive and McCrae Drive in the City of Welland.

When officers arrived, they found a man with injuries.

Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics arrived at the scene and assessed the victim, who was ultimately transported to an out-of-region hospital for treatment.  The victim’s injuries have since been determined to be non-life-threatening.

The suspect fled before police arrival. …
