Ward boundaries up for review in Ontario city [Video]

Pickering has invited the public to take another look at new ward boundaries adopted in 2021 – but not yet implemented – to see if the changes are still appropriate in light of rapid growth in the city, especially in the north-end Seaton community.

The city initiated a Ward Boundary Review to determine new ward boundaries four years ago, with the changes set to take effect in time for the 2026 municipal election.

City council directed staff in January to revisit the findings of the review using updated population data and growth projections. Based on these insights and public feedback from two open houses planned for next month, staff will recommend whether any changes to the ward boundaries are necessary.
