Wasserstrom Company faces higher costs due to tariffs and plans to pass them to customers if the situation persists.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Wasserstrom Company President Brad Wasserstrom said his 120-year-old Columbus-based, family-run food service and supply business gets products from dozens of countries – with China, Mexico and Canada being the main three.

He said the company is already seeing price increases from its suppliers as well as orders being postponed or canceled based on pending changes.

“We’re talking to our suppliers and our customers on what it means and we’re scrambling to find out as quickly as possible, country by country, material by material,” Wasserstrom said. “It’s just a lot to get your arms around in a very short period of time.”

Wasserstrom’s products include everything from ovens to forks and spoons for restaurants across the country. Brad Wasserstrom said if the tariffs stay in place, the company will not be able to absorb the extra costs and …
