WCHS holding ‘Food is Medicine’ event [Video]

WINNEBAGO, Neb. — The Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System is taking part in National Nutrition Month with a public event focused on Indigenous food.

“Food is Medicine,” which is the name of the presentation, will include door prizes, a healthy meal and an educational component. The public event is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 6 at the Whirling Thunder Wellness Center Gym (205 Bluff St.) in Winnebago.

Garan Coons, who oversees the Winnebago Tribe’s public relations, speaking about some of the events that will take place during the tribe’s 157th Annual Homecoming Celebration that will take place July 27-30.
