Weather advisory in effect for southern Ontario [Video]

A weather advisory is effect for southern Ontario.

The heavy and freezing rain warning from Wednesday is now over for parts of southern Ontario but there is a new alert for fog.

Dense fog is expected to redevelop early Thursday morning, according to the advisory from Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The advisory is in effect for most of the GTA including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Halton Region. Durham Region is not included.

There will be near zero visibility in dense fog. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

Visibility will improve as the dense fog dissipates this morning. Skies are expected to clear and temperatures could reach a high of 17 C.

Areas to the east of Durham Region are still under a heavy rain warning on Thursday morning.
