There’s more rain on the way with up to 50 mm possible in the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario later this week.
Environment Canada issued the special weather statement on Monday shortly after 4:30 p.m. and says there’s a “significant rainfall” expected midweek across the Greater Toronto Area and southern parts of the province.
The storm is expected to start on Wednesday and last early into Thursday with periods of heavy rain and between 30 to 50 mm of rainfall in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Hamilton.
Areas further south like London, Kitchener and the Niagara Falls area will also see heavy rain up to 50 mm and some areas could see higher amounts with possible thunderstorms.
Southwestern Ontario will be hit first before the storm moves into the Golden Horseshoe area on Wednesday afternoon, the agency says.
