The winter weather that struck southern Ontario Thursday morning is playing havoc with school bus scheduled in Durham Region and the eastern side of the province, with a total 345 delays and 16 cancellations reported.

There were no cancellations in the portion of Durham west of Clarington, though service to Uxbridge Secondary was 90 minutes behind and there were three more routes in Uxbridge and Ajax facing delays of an hour each.

East of Oshawa it was another story, with two routes to Courtice Secondary and Courtice Intermediate and another two routes serving Dr. GV MacGillivray in Courtice cancelled.

School bus service in Northumberland (Baltimore), Peterborough (St. Anne Catholic School and several wheelchair transportation routes) and in Belleville (routes to Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf) were also cancelled because of the weather.
