Weekend Weather: Rain, above-normal temperatures in southern Ontario [Video]

Rain and cloudy skies are forecast this weekend in southern Ontario.

It has been a mixed bag this week with a chance of snow in some areas and heavy rain on Wednesday.

There is no snow forecast for this weekend in the GTA but the rainy, gloomy weather appears to be continuing.

On Saturday, there is a 40 per cent chance of showers with highs of 8 C and lows around 3 C in Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and Durham Region, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The Niagara Falls area could reach 9 C.

The temperature is much the same on Sunday but there is no rain expected. Some areas such as Hamilton and Durham Region may get partly sunny skies.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs of around 6 C and lows of -1 C, according to Environment Canada.
