PADDOCK LAKE — Westosha Central High School band students have had a busy month of May, finding success in the Wisconsin State Solo and Ensemble competition and at the Maple Leaf Classic in Toronto, Canada.
There were 65 students performing in 16 events at the stater contest. Students and groups who received a “I” rating, the highest, included: Jazz Central, Trombone Choir, Brass Ensemble, Saxophone Choir and the Percussion Ensemble; Selah Hill with a clarinet solo; Jon Schiller with a piano solo and alto saxophone solo; Noah Burnett with a piano solo; and Gavin Burnett with a piano solo.
Students who received a “II” rating, the second-highest, included: Aubrey Reeves with a tuba solo; Karen Pisano with a trumpet solo; Gavin Burnett with a tenor saxophone solo; Lucas Roynon/Brady Pahl, who performed a trumpet duet; and Jon Schiller with a tenor saxophone solo.
