Wet conditions force closure of sports fields and ball diamaonds in Ontario town [Video]

The wet weather is playing havoc with sports schedules around the region with at least one municipality cancelling all permitted activities Thursday.

Due to ongoing heavy rain and wet conditions, all Town of Whitby sports fields and baseball diamonds are closed effective immediately and will be reassessed Friday.

Durham’s other towns haven’t issued similar proclamations yet but conditions on most baseball fields in particular will be less than ideal.
