The arrest affidavit revealed officers observed 20-year-old Breanna Pinick with red blood shot watery eyes and an alcoholic odor coming from her breath.

ODESSA, Texas — NewsWest 9 is learning more details through an arrest affidavit about a head-on Odessa crash on Dec. 22, 2024 that left two children in serious condition. One of the children, a five-year-old boy, passed away eight days later.

At approximately 8:43 p.m., Odessa Police Department (OPD) officers responded to a crash near the intersection of Grandview and Yukon.

When officers got to the scene, they learned 20-year-old Breanna Pinick, driving a white 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, was involved in a head-on collision with Jose Leyva Gavia, driving a grey 2022 Ram 1500.

According to the affidavit, a 15-year-old was in the front right passenger seat of the Chevrolet Cruze and a five-year-old boy was in the back right passenger seat of the Chevrolet Cruze.
