President Trump doubled down on his plan to impose tariffs beginning Saturday: a 25% tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tariff on China.
WASHINGTON — Late Friday afternoon, President Trump announced tariffs on oil and gas from Canada, Mexico, and China will also take effect in the next upcoming weeks.
Old Dominion University economics professor Bob McNab said if that happens, not only could prices at the pump go up, but also for products like auto parts, tequila, tomatoes, and avocadoes.
McNab warns if the Trump administration imposes tariffs on additional countries, the list of impacted goods for consumers could grow even longer.
