A wind warning is in place for parts of southern Ontario, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.

The warning from Environment Canada is in place for Niagara Falls, Welland and southern Niagara Region.

“A low pressure system tracking over southern Ontario is bringing a period of very strong wind gusts along the north shore of Lake Erie,” the weather agency said, advising of gusts of 90 to 100 km/h.

The winds are expected to weaken later Monday morning.

Damage to buildings could occur and loose objects might be tossed around, Environment Canada said.

Utility outages are also possible.
