A Winnipeg home is set to be demolished Friday after it was destroyed in a fire.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) was called to the fire at a vacant home in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue around 6:07 p.m. on Thursday.

Once at the scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house, which was the site of a previous fire in June. Firefighters launched an exterior attack as the home was not safe to go into and worked to extinguish the fire overnight.

The WFPS is planning an emergency demolition of the home Friday as the structural integrity of the house is compromised.

No one was hurt in the fire. Tenants of a neighbouring home were temporarily evacuated as a precaution.

The fire is under investigation and there are no damage estimates at this time.
