A 35-year-old Winnipeg man is in custody following an early-morning police chase involving a stolen vehicle.

Around 1:35 a.m. Sunday, officers said they saw a 2013 Ford F150 being driven in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Notre Dame Avenue. They learned the truck had been reported stolen from Niverville, Man., on Dec. 8.

Police said the driver tried to evade the officers by driving through the Weston and Keewatin neighbourhoods. However, he eventually lost control and got stuck in a snowbank near Pacific Avenue and Oddy Street.

The officers at the scene said they had to use a Taser to safely arrest the “uncooperative driver.” They also seized 3D-printed brass knuckles and break-in tools from the suspect.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police said they also discovered the suspect was prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada.

The 35-year-old faces several charges including possessing a weapon, break-in instruments and property obtained by crime …
