The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has made an arrest after a suspect backed a stolen cargo van into the entry of a car wash.
The investigation began on Saturday around 3:30 a.m., when officers saw a man walking in the area of McPhillips Street and Polson Avenue who matched the description of the suspect involved in a break and enter the previous day.
Officers tried to stop the man, but he ran away. Police quickly caught the suspect and seized property believed to have been obtained in the break and enter.
The major crimes unit investigated and determined that between last Thursday and Friday, a suspect stole a 2021 Ford Transit 350 valued at $28,000 from an autobody shop in the 1000 block of Arlington Street.
