Winnipeg providing grant money to help with community centre renovations [Video]

Thirteen community centres around Winnipeg will be getting funding to help with renovations.

The city announced the recipients for the Community Centre Renovation Grant Program Tuesday, noting more than $1.1 million will be divided among these 13 centres.

“By supporting renovations and upgrades, we’re ensuring these spaces remain accessible and well-equipped to meet the needs of Winnipeggers, now and for generations to come,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham in a news release.

The community centres receiving the grant this year are:

• Tuxedo;

• Weston;

• Sturgeon Heights;

• Robert A. Steen;

• Red River;

• Oxford Heights;

• Notre Dame;

• Dakota;

• Gateway;

• Greendell Park;

• Maples;

• Northwood; and

• Corydon—Sir John Franklin site.

“Through these renovation grants, we are helping ensure these facilities remain safe, welcoming, and modern spaces where residents of all ages can come together and thrive,” said Coun. Vivian Santos in a news release.
