ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Today is the transition day across Southcentral, as our ridge continues it’s shift to the east. This will provide at least one more day of sunshine for Southcentral and Southeast, before clouds and rain move back into the region. While we’re holding onto the springtime warmth in Southcentral, an intense winter storm is taking aim on the Aleutians, with impacts to be felt as far north as the Yukon Delta.

SOUTHCENTRAL:

Soak up the sunshine today, as it will be our final day for over the next week. This comes as our departing ridge opens the gulf up to increased activity. An area of low pressure in the northern Pacific Ocean will be the main focal point over the next couple of days for the southern coastline.

We’ll hold onto mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies today, with temperatures set to warm back into the upper 40s …
