WINTER STORM: Freezing rain up to 2 mm and snowfall warnings on in Niagara Falls [Video]

There could be as much as 2 mm of ice build-up and up to 10 cm of snow coming to the Niagara Falls area as warnings and alerts have been issued across Ontario.

Environment Canada put out a freezing rain warning for Niagara Falls and surrounding area after 4 p.m. as a low-pressure system moved into southern Ontario on Wednesday.

The weather agency says to expect freezing rain late on Wednesday evening into Thursday morning with up to 2 mm of ice build-up possible.

There’s also a weather advisory on for the Niagara Region with between 5 to 10 cm of snow expected and peak snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour.

Drivers and motorists across Ontario are being urged to stay off the roads until the storm passes with up to 40 cm of snowfall possible in some parts of the province by Thursday.
