ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Wet weather is anticipated for much of Alaska the rest of the week. A series of winter storms bring messy weather in the form of snow, rain, gusty winds, and mild temperatures.

Roads in the city of Anchorage were slick, as temperatures dropped below freezing at night and rose above it during the day.

The current storm over Alaska is generating warnings for heavy snow and gusting winds. Weather alerts line the west coast of the state and work inland to the middle Yukon Valley.

Snowfall amounts are likely to be highest over the western Brooks Range slopes, where some 9 to 14 inches and winds to 35 mph are prompting the warning.
