Wintry storm arrives for Election Day 2024 [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A large storm rotating over the Bering Sea is powerful enough to generate warnings and advisories for snow, high winds, and rain.

Blizzard warnings are out for the Pribilof Islands, including Nunivak Island and parts of the Kukokwim Delta. Winds gusting to 50 mph and up to 4 to 9 inches of snow are expected. Winter Weather Advisories for the Innoko and Lower Yukon River Valley go into effect Monday evening.

Southcentral Alaska faces a winter weather delivery of high winds, snow, and rain. Brace for high winds in the higher elevations of the Anchorage hillside and along Turnagain Arm. Gusts of 50-75 mph are expected, with some spots (like Bear Valley) having the potential to see gusts up to 85 mph.
