A woman has been found dead after a residential fire in eastern Ontario, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said that shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday, emergency crews responded to the scene on Fourth Line Road in South Glengarry Township, east of Cornwall.

“The home was fully engulfed when first responders arrived,” OPP said.

A 73-year-old man escaped with minor injuries, but a 95-year-old woman was found dead inside the home, police said.

There is no word on what caused the blaze.

An investigation is ongoing.
