A stabbing in Toronto’s Moss Park neighbourhood Tuesday morning has left a woman with serious injuries as police search for a suspect.

Officers were called to a residence near George and Dundas streets just before 11 a.m. for a report that someone had been stabbed.

When they arrived on scene, police said they found a female victim with a stab wound. A male suspect, a description of whom was not released, fled the area on foot.

The victim was transported to hospital, where paramedics say she is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The circumstance leading up to the stabbing are unknown at this time.
