A Quebec woman wanted by police after an officer was struck by a vehicle during an arrest attempt in Oshawa last month has been arrested and faces numerous charges, including perjury and 44 probation breaches or fail to comply with release orders.
An officer with Durham Police’s Project Attire Auto Theft Unit was in a plaza on Stevenson Road in Oshawa on March 21 when he saw a suspect from a recent auto-theft investigation who was allegedly in breach of her release conditions.
The officer attempted to arrest the woman, who fled to a white Mercedes. An unknown driver then began reversing the vehicle, dragging the officer several metres, before striking a parked car and fleeing the area.
The officer sustained minor injuries.
