Workplace safety workers continue strike after negotiations stall in Ontario [Video]

Workplace safety workers in Ontario are continuing to strike after negotiations fell through this weekend

An official report released today by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) cited that, after negotiating with the Ontario Compensation Employees Union (OCEU) and CUPE Local 1750 union representing the WSIB workers, the strike will continue until an agreement is reached.

The walkout has been ongoing since May 22, 2025.

According to the WSIB report, topics brought to the table this weekend included wages, benefits, and staff workload.

Representatives behind the WSIB indicated that they are currently ready to reach a deal with the CUPE workers to return to a working standard.
