Yorkton photos with Santa fundraiser reaches new milestone [Video]

Yorkton, Sask. –

Through a more “personalized” approach, kids in Yorkton are getting the chance to take their photo with one of Santa’s helpers while also supporting a good cause.

“When they come here, they’re going to be transported into a Winter Wonderland,” expressed Jackie Tokarchuk, owner of Simple Shots by Jackie.

For the fifth consecutive year, Boys and Girls Club (BGC) Yorkton has partnered with a local photographer to organize a week-long “Winter Wonderland: Photos with Santa” fundraiser.

“It’s a more personalized experience. Santa knows who you are, what you want for Christmas, your pets name, your elves name. Santa knows everything,” Tokarchuk explained.

From hours to months of preparation, the city’s Ag Pavilion is transformed into a holiday walk-thru filled with snowflakes and photo displays for families to use. Although there is no entry fee, every donation provided goes to BGC Yorkton.
