Oklahoma authorities said Tuesday that the 10-year-old woke up on April 22 and discovered the bodies of five family members

A 10-year-old sole survivor of a family murder-suicide dialed 911 after waking up and discovering five bodies at home, Oklahoma City police said Tuesday, April 23.

Speaking at a press conference the authorities revealed that they received a call at 9:35 a.m. local time on April 22 from a 10-year-old who stated that “everyone inside the home appeared to be dead.”

It followed news that “sometime overnight” the child’s father Jonathon Candy, 42, “became involved in an altercation” with his wife Lindsay Candy, 39, before fatally shooting her multiple times.

He then “systematically” went through the home, shooting and killing three of their children — Dylan Candy, 18, Ethan Candy, 14, and Lucas Candy, 12, before turning the gun on himself.
