18th annual Colonial Fort Halifax Festival to lead into another summer of excavating [Video]

The 18th annual Colonial Fort Halifax Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 4, and will mark the start of another active year at Fort Halifax Park in Dauphin County.

Visitors to the festival, where the parking and admission are free, will see artifacts recovered during two sessions of archeological exploration, while at the same time getting a fun and informative look at life around the Fort Halifax region in the 1750s.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fort Halifax Park, 570 North River Road (State Route 147), just north of Halifax in Dauphin County.

Featured will be living history presentations by reenactors of the French and Indian War War, including firing demonstrations by the Augusta Regiment reenactors who portray the colonial troops who built and manned Fort Halifax.
