Alberta Premier Danielle Smith discusses the $2.1 billion in funding for educational investments announced in the 2024 provincial budget. The increased funding would promote 43 priority school projects and create approximately 35,000 new and modernized spaces for learning in the province.
She is joined at the news conference in Calgary by Alberta ministers Demetrios Nicolaides (education) and Pete Guthrie (infrastructure), as well as Shannon Cook (board chair of the Calgary Catholic School District), Laura Hack (board chair of the Calgary Board of Education) and Julie Kusiek (board chair of Edmonton Public Schools).
