British Columbia is setting new 10-year poverty reduction targets, with an aim to cut the poverty rate by 60 per cent. Nanaimo senior David Kennedy, 67, says it’s difficult to keep up with the rising costs of rent and food. Sheila Malcolmson, B.C.’s poverty reduction minister, introduced legislation to set the new targets. (March 5, 2024)
