Barenaked Ladies will play Pinewood Bowl on Sept. 17.

The veteran Canadian quartet, known for ’90s hits such as “One Week” and “If I Had $1,000,000” and more recently “The Big Bang Theory” theme song, have played Omaha’s Qwest Center (now CHI Health Center) and frequently performed at Stir Cove in Council Bluffs.

It is believed that the September show will be BNL’s first Lincoln appearance.

Formed in a Toronto suburb in 1998 by singer/guitarist Ed Robertson and his friend Steven Page, who left the band in 2008, Barenaked Ladies broke through in Canada via its 1991 indie-released debut album “The Yellow Ticket.”

Signed to Sire Records, the band released “Gordon,” which contained the hits “If I Had $1,000,000” and “Brian Wilson” in 1992. That album set BNL on the path to becoming Canada’s biggest band of the decade and to enduring popularity in the U.S.
